Escape Gallery is Poulsbo, Washington's premier escape room experience, co-owned by Cindi McCurdy and John Lyon-Smith; two passionate puzzle enthusiasts and longtime locals. Escape Gallery was created to celebrate the history, creativity, and beauty of the Kitsap Peninsula through immersive, handcrafted adventures.
Inspired by Poulsbo
Every experience we create is designed with a story worth exploring. Our first escape room, Odin's Dilemma, honors Poulsbo's legendary Viking heritage with an immersive Norse-inspired adventure. Soon to follow is Glitch: The Dark Machine, an 80s arcade mystery that combines retro nostalgia with thrilling puzzles.
As Escape Gallery grows, so will our collection of unique adventures, each designed to challenge, entertain, and bring people together.

After 25+ years in Kingston and a long career in tech, I’ve found the perfect excuse to turn foam into castle walls, paint horses, gild dragons and generally fool the eye. I also wrangle much of the business behind Escape Gallery - but nothing beats hearing the squeals, laughter and teamwork when people step inside a world we’ve created.
John Lyon-Smith

Originally from the UK but now calling Kingston home, I’m a software engineer with a fondness for code, wiry bits, clever mechanics and things that surprise and delight. At Escape Gallery, I design and build the technology behind the magic - which is really just an excuse to keep tinkering.
